Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military general during the French Revolution and was the first emperor of France during the Napoleonic Wars. He is considered one of the greatest generals in history. His assistant was Pierre.

Biography[]

Napoleon was born on August 15, 1769. He was young when he dealt with the invading British and the counter-revolutionaries. Napoleon defeated them, so he was promoted to the rank of general. After Maximilien Robespierre died in 1794, the Moderates protested. Luckily, Napoleon was in Paris, so he and his soldiers took control. After creating a plan to invade Austria, both northern sides fell. Still, Napoleon was able to win battle after battle until the Austrians surrendered. He single-handedly knocked Austria out of the war at the age of 28. As a result, Napoleon became a hero among the French people. After returning from Egypt, he found himself very popular but was very unpopular with the French government. Napoleon and a French politician staged a coup. Then, he and his soldiers raided the French government building, took over the government, and made himself Emperor in 1804. After this, he restored the Catholic Church and the Gregorian Calendar to France. Napoleon then conquered most of Europe during the Napoleonic Wars. But with his invasion of Russia, Napoleon lost his allies and land. In 1814, Napoleon was defeated and exiled to Elba, an island near Italy. A year later, Napoleon returned to France and became the Emperor again. But in a disastrous campaign, Napoleon was defeated again exiled to a British island called St. Helena. Napoleon Bonaparte died on May 5, 1821, and his remains were buried inside multiple layers of coffins. His body now resides in Paris, France.
